“My name is Nicole Alejandro, 19 years old, and I’m from UST. I’m a very curious person. I love to wonder about things, where I always find myself questioning where and why such thing existed in our world. I love to read, but I’m stuck in the mentality that Young Adult is the only genre of books that can humor and delight me.”
In the past days (actually months) , I’ve automatically uttered that intro whenever the interviewer starts to ask me to tell something about myself. Despite having those words buried in my mind, I still tend to stutter and laugh even though nothing is funny.
I’m Nicole, 19, and hopelessly waiting. Waiting for what? For the Great Perhaps? For someone to give me a bouquet of flowers without me hinting? For a company to call me, and tell me to start my ojt as soon as possible? For fate to give my parents another chance to succeed? For my sister to get married? For me to graduate college on time? For someone to treat me like how I imagined an ideal person treating me? For the world to change? I’m waiting, always waiting. Why do I wait? Because they said, good things come to those who wait-and I’m a foolish genius to believe that.
My friend, now you know .89774027487034 % of me… will you be in for a ride?
xx,
Nicole
